The founder and Chief Executive Director of ECSF Mr. Frederick Mativo has lived with Cancer for over twenty years. Mr. Mativo’s journey with cancer began in the year 2000 when he left for studies in the UK where he was diagnosed with Cancer (Multiple Myeloma). This took him through counselling sessions by professionals at Liverpool Royal University Hospital followed by Chemotherapy treatment and later bone marrow transplant.

 

Liverpool Haematology Cancer Support Group for counselling and support was very instrumental and a turning point to his life, awakening the drive to Found an organization that would give hope to the many cancer patients and survivors in Kenya. Mr. Mativo with the support of his wife Josephine decided to change his lifestyle by engaging in light physical activities that have kept him active, concentrating on food that boosts immunity and fights cancer cells. In conclusion, this has become a model in his life.
